Ng Foundation Scholarship Information and Application

Ng Foundation Scholarships (the “Scholarships”) is a key initiative of Ng Foundation. The purpose of the Scholarships is to provide financial assistance to academically accomplished high school students who exhibit financial need and plan to enroll in educational programs at a college or university.

Ng Foundation

Ng Foundation is established by the Arden Ng, to conduct philanthropic activities with a view to create meaningful social impact. Ng Foundation firmly believes in the importance of education and the pursuit of one’s passion in an area of study that motivates them to give their best effort, reach their potential, and to best serve their community. Having the fortune of being able to give back, Ng Foundation is proud to help those in need as they begin their adult life and support their aspirations to earn a degree that can benefit them and their family in the future. Further, Ng Foundation wants to assist with alleviating the financial barrier some students face in obtaining a tertiary education.

Overview of the Scholarships

Beginning in the 2025-26 U.S. academic year, the Scholarship Committee (the “Committee”) of the Foundation will award up to 20 one-year Scholarships.

Eligibility is limited to high school seniors with financial need, and who are studying at a high school within an approximate fifteen-mile radius of Ng Foundation's office in Cupertino, California. Applicants must also be actively applying for, or have been offered admittance to college in the year of high school graduation.

Applicants who demonstrate good character and academic ability and readiness, and who demonstrate financial need will be considered. The Scholarships will be one-year scholarships.

The Foundation will disburse the funds each year to the students selected by the Scholarship Committee. The value of the scholarship is $5,000 for each recipient.

In addition, each recipient of a Scholarship will also receive a quarterly mentorship meeting with a Director or an Executive of Ng Foundation throughout their college journey. The assigned mentor will provide career development coaching to the recipient. The recipient does not have any bond to serve. However, the Foundation requires each recipient to ‘give back’ to future recipients in the form mentorship and networking with the scholarship alumni.

Criteria

Criteria for the selection of the scholarship recipients include the following:

  1. Must be a high school senior planning to attend a college or university upon high school graduation.

  2. Personality and character traits that in the Scholarship Committee members’ opinion would enable the student to be successful in tertiary education, and that aligns with the Foundation’s core values.

  3. Geographically studying at a high school within fifteen miles by car of the Foundation’s office in Cupertino, California.

  4. Must demonstrate strong academic achievements and extra-curricular interests.

  5. Must demonstrate financial need.

The decision of the Committee is final, and applicants will not be informed nor have the right to know the Committee’s basis for the decision.
